Hi! My name is William Brandt. I am the science teacher at La Feria Academy. I teach all of the high school science courses offered at our school
I am a 1969 graduate of La Feria High School. I attended Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Physical Education, and Health. My first teaching position was 7th and 8th grade science at Mercedes Junior High in 1974-75. I moved to Coakley Junior High in Harlingen where I began my coaching/teaching career in 1975. I taught physical science, Health, and Physical Education. I married my high school sweetheart in June of 1975. I moved to Raymondville High School in 1980 and stayed two years. My first daughter was born in June of 1980 and my second daughter was born in April of 1982. I moved to Sharyland ISD in 1982 and spent one year coaching football and basketball and teaching science. I moved to San Benito High School in 1983 and spent 4 years teaching biology and IPC and coaching football, track and basketball. I left San Benito in 1987 and moved to Hidalgo High School. My youngest daughter was born in March of 1990. At Hidalgo I taught biology, IPC, chemistry, physical education and coached football, girls basketball, boys and girls track, boys and girls cross country. I retired from Hidalgo in 2003. In 2004 I returned to teaching science at OSM charter school in Weslaco, Texas. I spent 5 years at OSM and I left at the end of the 2009 school year. I returned to La Feria at the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year and I am teaching science at the La Feria Academy.
